Description
7 acres of Pennine hillside. 0.5 acres terraced veg. beds, and orchard 2.5 acres goat pasture, 4 acres woodland, heath and old quarry. Livestock - 2 goats, 4 hens. Cultivation by terracing begun by Himalayan farmers. General aims - to make a Pennine hillside productive, incorporating indigenous knowledge and crops of upland farming. Can teach composting, goat milking, yoghurt and cheese, goat care including pedicure, terrace construction, delicious organic cooking. Holding does not provide main income. Other interests - applying anthropology of indigenous agriculture; Incredible Edible; hill-walking, waterfalls and streams.
