We are a smallholding, growing veg and fruit, with a 16 acre croft a 5 minute walk from our house. A small fenced area of our croft is used for veg beds and some fruit bushes. There is some coppice birch and hazel woodland on our croft, which is used for fuel. We are planting more trees with deer protection. We have 2 horses. Work on the croft includes drainage work to improve grazing.
We also have veg beds, greenhouse and some fruit trees/bushes around our house, and have been making permaculture beds in woodland behind house. We also harvest wild food and cut peat locally as fuel.
Wwoofer accommodation is a wooden A-frame cabin near our house with double sleeping platform, homemade wood stove, homemade guitar, some good books, sink with footpump tap, and compost toilet. Not recommended for cleanliness freaks - some dust and damp and possibly occasional spiders and mice! Bath / shower available in our house heated by our woodstove backboiler.
