We are a mixture: family home, garden renowned for its roses and borders, food grower, art & events venue. Sometimes it is quiet, and at other times very busy. I wanted to put 1-5 for the number of adult hosts, as I am sometimes alone but sometimes not, and there are gardeners and others here by day.
We suit wwoofers who are fairly confident and independent, but the garden work is supervised. During the early months of the year, we need general garden help - blowing leaves, making compost, planting and mulching. In the spring and summer, the emphasis changes to picking and preserving produce, as well as general garden maintenance. This summer (2018) is our biennial sculpture exhibition, so we will also need help during our installation period in May and while the exhibition is in progress.
We are veggie-centric: we eat little meat or fish, and we welcome vegetarians and vegans. We can host meat eaters, but they won't eat meat every day! Wwoofers must be able to cook for themselves sometimes.
