DescriptionWe have a one acre site which is being developed using organic & permaculture methods. We keep free range chickens and are currently drawing up plans for a free range duck system. We have lots of fruit trees, soft fruit bushes and edible perennials and grow a lot of vegetables organically using low carbon no dig techniques. Surplus veg and fruit are preserved, made in to jam and wine. The site is used to teach permaculture and edible landscaping with courses being run on the property as well as guided tours. There is a huge variety of tasks at any time of year: sheet mulching, harvesting, weeding, looking after chickens and soon ducks, planting and sowing to name a few. Inexperience with growing food and looking after poultry is not a problem as we have a great deal of experience. However, hard landscaping skills would be a bonus. There is easy access to Cardiff and Welsh mountains. On their days off wwoofers enjoy either exploring the Brecon Beacons (mountains) or The Gower (seaside) or closer to us - Cardiff’s amazing Bute Park. To find out more please see our web site.
