| Description | The farm lies in the remote SW corner of the Isle of Mull in the Inner Hebrides extending west from the white sands of Ardalanish Bay. Its extensive hill grazings (1500 acres) comprise heather, dry heath, bog and scrub woodland with approx 4.5 km of rocky coastline. On 40 acres in bye, hay or haylage, oats, turnips and potatoes are organically grown. We raise black Highland cattle (25 cows and followers) and Hebridean sheep (200 ewes). All animals are finished on the farm and meat is sold through the shop. Wool is woven into tweeds, rugs, scarves etc on the farm in the traditional weaving mill. There is a small sewing workshop. Tweeds, tailored & couture garments are sold in our small shop. Holding provides main income. Home grown vegetables. Help is not needed at Christmas and New Year. |
