| Description | For 29 years we have been running our 12 acre croft in a remote village of 9 houses on the west coast of the Isle of Lewis. We keep cows, hens, a dog, cat and a Massey Ferguson tractor. Work varies but includes vegetable gardening, hay and silage making, harvesting oats, peat cutting together with general croft/outbuilding maintenance. Accommodation is normally in a wheelhouse relocated from a fishing boat to our croft. Meals and facilities in house. Most visitors spend at least one spectacular night in our stone bothy which we built half way down an Atlantic cliff close by. Marvellous beaches and we can guarantee only you on some of them. Mountains inland with the highest concentration of golden eagles in Europe. Possibilities of cycling and fishing. Vegetarian wholefood cooking, often from wind-fenced organic garden. We prefer 1 week visits, one or two people.
