| Description | When we started our project in 2007 - the setting up of vegetable gardens based on permaculture principles - in conjunction with installing alternative energy sources and generating wildlife - we had no idea that so much fantastic help would be offered by WWOOFers. Hundreds of WWOOFer-days of work poured in, and we're extremely grateful for this. As a result there is now a fully-functional system of rotating beds and a large greenhouse, covering an area of about 1 acre. The whole site is 13 acres (about 5 hectares). The scheme is a partnership with a local permaculture expert Kevin Pickard, who is available several days a week to offer hands-on guidance.
Before considering contacting us, it's maybe important to mention that most people who come here do so partly to have a little space on their own. Accommodation is in a quite spacious mobile home building (hot water, power, several rooms) and you'll be cooking your own meals. It's a beautiful spot for a bit of quiet solitude, but please don't expect lots of social interaction or entertainment! (And because of this, unless there happens to be another WWOOFer here, it's not a suitable option for people explicitly looking to improve their English.) |
