| Description | We run a 6 1/2 acre sustainable working croft on the West Coast of Scotland. We have a range of animals including a Jersey cow who we milk, followers, pigs, chicken (for meat and eggs) ducks, geese and a large fruit and veggie patch and poly-tunnel. We fish and collect sea-weed and are enthusiastic members of the Lochaber Environmental Group. We are also members of the local composting group which you can help with. We'd like help with gardening, the animals - feeding and lots of mucking out, fencing, building and composting. You will eat with us and live in a large mobile home with wood burning stove and shower room. We are about to install a wind turbine and wood burning boiler. Wwoofers can help with making cheese and yogurt, bread, home-smoking, ,join in preserving of fruits and vegetables and are asked to help with washing up. Non smokers only please. We only have room for one wwoofer at a time (we also have one employee) or idealy a couple who would like a longer term commitment (this would need advance notice of about 6 months). Sorry we are now full in June/July/August 2010. We are keen to hear from wwoofers in May and September onwards. |
