Description
We have a small 25 acre smallholding with south facing slopes in the beautiful Chew Valley, between Chew Magna and Winford and about 9 miles from the centre of Bristol.

Since we moved here, in December, 1995, we have developed a cider apple orchard and we now harvest apples each year in October and take them to Thatchers' cider factory. We also make apple and pear juice for friends and family using traditional apple presses.

We have a well-planted walled garden for the bees and we work in the Forest Garden, which is now becoming productive We usually take fruit, veg or plants to the local Friday market. Work varies from season to season and from year to year - care of animals, seasonal planting, harvesting and lots of pruning and mulching !
If you have carpentry skills, and / or are keen to learn about organic gardening and permaculture ways, you will be particularly welcome.

We are happy to accept day / week-end Wwoofers and it helps if you can book well in advance. Non-smokers only, please.
