| Description | This is a smallholding on 2 acres. The livestock consists of 4 milking dairy goats 2 males and kids .We use the milk for cheese and yogurt. Any one interested in cheese craft are welcome to try their hand at making some. The dairy products are not for sale, used for own consumption.
We have 6 geese (docile) 7 ducks (khaki Campbell and Moscuvies) and 3 Peking bantums. There is an Organic garden and wooded area.
The smallholding is in scenic North Northumberland not far from the start of the Pennine way, Holy Island and the Scotish Border.
Nearest town is Wooler with Berwick, Kelso and Alnwick not far away.
Knowledge of agriculture or horticulture is not necessary, just a keen interest in a sustainable way of life.
We keep bees (one hive tucked out of the way) The bees are quite docile and easy to handle. Bee suits are available for those interested in the craft of beekeeping. We have only been here a short time and still in the process of renovation and planting. |
