| Description | This is a SA registered smallholding in the process of establishing a small scale commercial soft fruit enterprise. Having renovated the farmhouse using ecological building techniques and alternative technology, we are now concentrating on developing the land. Main seasonal activities are; hedgelaying, fencing and wood gathering in the winter, planting, pruning and soil preparation in the spring, picking, packing and haymaking in the summer, ground work, pruning and clearing up in the autumn. Ongoing projects include renovating outbuildings and other small building projects, creating a pond and wetlands habitat and establishing a garden around the house. We have some poultry and are experimenting with geese as weeders.
We are close to the Preseli hills with access to local trout fishing, walking and cycling routes and would be interested to learn more about coppicing, woodcraft or any other traditional skills from WWOOF visitors. |
