DescriptionWe have 3 1/2 acres of wild and cultivated garden, consisting of organic vegetables, fruit and nut orchards, herbs, grassland, wildlife corners, herbaceous borders, stone circles and meditation spaces. We are trying to be self-sufficient in vegetables in the summer, and have been growing produce for ourselves and the small vegetarian café we run on camps in the summer. We have lived here 20 years and are creating a beautiful place to live in. For the last three seasons we have had a number of raised beds for vegetables and this year we’re erecting a polytunnel. We also run a retreat centre and host small camping holidays in the Spring. Sixteen bed rotation with green manures and mulching, mostly growing from seed using compost and rotating beds. Would love some help with planting and care of seedlings and plants, bramble clearing, weeding, planting, picking fruit , mowing grass, and occasional building work, In a lovely, quiet rural location in the Forest of Dean, with the woods and river Wye at the bottom of our track. Lovely for walking, cycling, canoeing, deer, wild boar, or just chilling out. Close to a small village i.e. walking distance of bus route, shop, pubs etc Accommodation is basic but cosy and private, in either caravans or old converted truck with woodburner. There’s also space to bring your tent or living van. We have an eco-earth loo and wood fired shower. We can provide basic self-serve breakfast and a cooked meal each evening, and you’re welcome to self cater too. Hours are flexible (approx 4 hours a day) and there will be plenty of time for enjoying the peaceful location. We also run other projects (Rainbow 2000 summer camps, see www.superspirit.co.uk and related links) which you’d be welcome to join in with. Help is always appreciated, and WWOOFers are welcome all year round.
