Description
An idyllic and secluded conservation site (with Beavers!) set in 75 acres of land at the head of the valley near Machynlleth in mid Wales.
Started in 2008, we have reforested 30 acres of open pasture with native broad leaf trees(30,000 so far)
We are developing a 2.5 acre Forest Garden, commercial vegetable gardens and bees. Work has begun this year on an experimental 'field scale' crop to
increase food growing in the uplands! There is always plenty of picking, preserving, sowing seed, weeding, mulching, repotting, watering and Cottage changeovers to do :)
Feeding the animals is a shared daily task
Forthcoming missions include finishing the beautiful 'waney-edged' cabin and we also have cunning plans afoot to create a 'hobbit house'! Normal duties would include the day to day running of a successful eco B&B holiday and box scheme business as well. Longer term WWOOFers with a genuine passion for the land and for life would be wholeheartedly welcome!
From October 2017 we will have a dedicated 'volunteer house' on site x
