Description
Cornwall Sustainability Award Winners 2015 - "Best Contribution to a sustainable food economy: From Nature to Plate"

We are a 36-acre community-owned farm ten minutes walk from a small busy town, four miles from Lands End and one mile from the coast. Our vision is to develop a self-financing, community-led, food-growing initiative to benefit the community in an economically, environmentally and socially sustainable way. We have 300 free-range hens, 5 bee-hives, 6 acres of vegetables, six polytunnels, a farm shop, a veg-box scheme, stalls at local farmer's markets, community events and workshops.

There's always lots to be done, with opportunities to help with a variety of work including animal care, horticulture, agriculture, community engagement...and more!

Accommodation is in the farmhouse. One of your hosts lives one mile away in the centre of St. Just, the other lives alongside wwoofers in the farmhouse. Wwoofers stay in one of four rooms, with one being a shared room. Meals are shared. We try to have an average of 5 wwoofers at any time. We are registered with the Wholesome Foods Association.
