Description
We are part of the old Rutland Brewery. The garden, paddock and orchard are more than an acre. The main house and stables have various renewable technologies. We have been gardening organically and educating about it for more than 30 years. We have a fruit orchard, soft fruit, vegetable plots, tree nursery, polytunnel, ducks and chickens. Fruit and veg are sold on the road. We preserve and process a lot of produce, and make cider, wine and fruit juices for the year. We also have a range of renewable energy technologies such as heat pumps, PV panels and a solar thermal panel.

I was a part-time member of staff for WWOOF-UK and coordinated the LLOOF education project (www.lloof.eu). Myself and my wife Mary are both involved with education for sustainable development, Transition Towns, Forest schools, Fairtrade Town and Community Orchard groups. We also run regular traditional music sessions and dance workshops. So food, drink, dance and good company is a major part of our lives.
