Description
Hello, Although we are new WWOOF hosts we have hosted many foreign students in the past when we were more actively farming. Now we only have a few chickens and a large organic vegetable garden and coppiced woodland. A neighbor rents the grassland. We live in the Shropshire Hills so wonderful countryside for walking and wildlife. The nearest small town is Church Stretton. Historic Shrewsbury (N)and Ludlow (S)are about 15 miles away and there is train and bus connections to them for none car owners. We garden organically and rear or buy local high welfare standards meat. We are not purists but try to shop and live ethically within our means.
We work with the seasons so seeding, planting and growing in the spring, weeding and growing in the summer and harvesting, storing, bottling, making jam in the autumn and clearing up ready for winter.
We include our students/WWOOFers as part of the family and we prepare the meals and eat together. There is always talking and banter!
