 | Work required relates to:
Finishing eco-built farmhouse
Fencing for Highland Cattle
Starting vegetable Garden
General farm maintenace and care
Building new shed
I manage the farm single-handed and have built an exciting new house - it would be good to have help over the summer. My main concern over the summer is finishing the landscaping and also repairing and installing alot of farm fencing - so its quite hard physical work but not highly skilled.
The farm is set in beautiful scenery overlooking the River Spey Valley and surrounded by mountains with wonderful walks and cycle rides.
I am not a great cook so will provide food but not cook it -sorry! The accommodation is self contained but is sometimes let to visiors - at these times the spare room in the farmhouse would be available - or other accommodation. | View |

*Cotswold stone wall building
*Maintenance of the organic veg patches
*Developing the orchard area
*Maintenance of chickens
*Coppicing
*Collecting and chopping fire wood
*Various Carpentry jobs
(No experience is needed and any training will be given)
Woodside is perfect for those who would like to explore and soak up the atmosphere of the beautiful Cotswold hills. This is an opportunity to learn or share skills, ideas, and different backgrounds. | View |

 | When we started our project in 2007 - the setting up of vegetable gardens based on permaculture principles - in conjunction with installing alternative energy sources and generating wildlife - we had no idea that so much fantastic help would be offered by WWOOFers. Hundreds of WWOOFer-days of work poured in, and we're extremely grateful for this. As a result there is now a fully-functional system of rotating beds and a large greenhouse, covering an area of about 1 acre. The whole site is 13 acres (about 5 hectares). The scheme is a partnership with a local permaculture expert Kevin Pickard, who is available several days a week to offer hands-on guidance.
Before considering contacting us, it's maybe important to mention that most people who come here do so partly to have a little space on their own. Accommodation is in a quite spacious mobile home building (hot water, power, several rooms) and you'll be cooking your own meals. It's a beautiful spot for a bit of quiet solitude, but please don't expect lots of social interaction or entertainment! (And because of this, unless there happens to be another WWOOFer here, it's not a suitable option for people explicitly looking to improve their English.) | View |

 | We're only 2 years into sorting our, 7 and a half acres (also lease woodland to start 2010) On the Cornish Rame peninsula (nr Cawsand) gorgeous beaches and countryside around us. There are Small villages close by with lots of musical/social events, although a lot more quiet in winter than summer. Plymouth is not far and offers anything you can think of! Veg is grown in the patches the pigs clear and produce is sold locally. We try to live mostly on what we produce and our practises are all ethically sound and eco/animal friendly. We do not use a tractor so work is labour intensive. Also we are starting to do local event/weddings providing hog roasts etc, as well as putting up sheds, making plots, etc etc etc- you could be involved in anything-we have had wwofers end up singing at weddings! Relaxed atmosphere in a friendly neighbourhood | View |
 | We're a 20,000 acre estate on the Isle of Jura, one of the most remote farms in Argyll. We can offer a range of experiences depending on seasons, from feeding cattle to clearing rhodedendrons. We have 65 cattle, 40 Jacobs sheep and 2 pigs but our main business is red deer stalking and b+b. We're a family with 4 young children looking for help on lots of levels. We can teach livestock and woodland management, and there could be opportunities for stalking and fishing. If you're sociable and prepared to muck in and don't mind being 17 miles away from the only shop , this could be the place….. | View |
 | We're a 120 acre beef and sheep farm. We've been organic since we came here in 1995. This is the most beautiful wooded valley, with fields leading down to the river. There's always work to do, from helping with the animals to pulling ragwort, and working in the woods. Rebuilding the tree- house is one of the many jobs we don't have time for. WWOOfers live as one of the family and we enjoy meeting volunteers from all round the world. Many have become friends, and we'd love to meet more! We were WWOOF hosts for some years and let the membership lapse through being disorganised with paperwork. Since rejoining WWOOF we've very much enjoyed meeting many more WWOOFers, and they've enjoyed being here. | View |
 | We would like people to help us in our 140' garden & 3 allotments all within walking distance of the house. We are mainly self-sufficient in fruit and veg. Tasks for the coming year include cutting back plum suckers, and developing the end of the garden for productive use and increasing the vegatable beds in the garden. There are opportunites join in the community collective chicken-keeping, to learn alongside us about keeping bees and to help out in the development of the local community orchard.project and a newly planted allotment for hazel coppicing and nut production. Long term plans are to set up a register of local trees and develop community fruit picking for apple juice cider and jam and chutney making. We are committed to combating climate change and peak oil: we have a well insulated home, solar hot water, a small wind turbine and we don't have a car. | View |
 | We work with 40 acres of land, with garden, woodlands and grazing in a sheltered valley two miles from the sea in north Pembrokeshire. We need help with our vegetable gardens, coppicing our woodlands and generally caring for the land. There is always great variety of tasks to help with and our practical guidance in tackling them.We adopt organic practices and regard the health of this land as a main priority. We seek to make our holding significantly independent in food, fuel and power and share this goal with like-minded neighbours. We practise various healing skills and love to celebrate the Earth’s cycles with music around a fire. Food is provided for the self-catering flat and some shared meals. We have some beautiful camping spaces. Phone to discuss options. | View |
 | We want likeminded folk to share our special space. We have lots of ongoing work in the garden, plus projects. Some things we can teach, but we also want to learn. We also like to show WWOOFers the local area and culture. We are easy-going but hard working. Are you creative, but can complete tasks undertaken? See website for more info. | View |
 | We sell and grow a wide variety of herbaceous perennials, herbs, shrubs and trees not to mention summer and spring bedding and veg. plants. Accomodation is provided in my home in 1 single bedroom or 1 double bedroom. There is also a chalet in the garden with own toilet and baisin that can accomodate 1 or 2 people. I live in a rural area with buses to nearby Hitchin, Welwyn and Stevenage but none on Sundays or after 6pm at night. In addition to a half acre garden with several greenhouses and standing out area, I also have storage/ potting area on a livery farm nearby and 2 allottments - one sole and 1 shared where it is planned to grow fruit and veg. I am assisted in the growing of plants by a wide range of volunters including a number who are recovering from major problems in their lives including addictions, homelessness or mental or physical illness. As well as using horticulture as a therapeautic tool, we also seek to reuse a wide variety of industrial waste material horticulturally. This is constantly being developed and refined. | View |
 | We run a smallholding with pigs, sheep, poultry, bees, fruit and vegetables. We have two small boys aged 4 and 2 and 2 Springer Spaniel dogs. We run a community facility: pig share, land share and use our space as the local village hall. I also work with excluded young people on the land during term time. We are opening a Steiner Kindergarten in September 2010 and we need help making the garden space and creating a space to put up a yurt. Help is also needed on building projects: converting a small building to a bedsit.
We are able to offer rustic accommodate in a Bothy up the field. There is running water, gas stove, sink and toilets. The bothy is by a pond, the site is beautiful and peaceful.
WWOOFers wanted throughout the summer months if they have their own tent; accommodation can only be provided in July & August. Camper vans by negotiation. Also meals will be self-catering (some shared lunches). | View |
 | We run a small farm from a renovated water mill with vegetable gardens and livestock. Much of the work relates to the restoration of the farm. Proper organic farming and stock management depends upon traditional field barriers and traditional infrastructure. We are also committed to renewable energy, using traditional sources, like water, as far as possible. In addition to our everyday farming tasks we are therefore engaged with hedge laying, hedge restoration, wall building, clearing neglected areas of the farm, restoring the water courses for the mill and such like. We make these points so that it is clear that a lot of our work is relatively heavy (digging, shifting stones and the like) and so would suit fit and energetic people. We should prefer longer visits as that would give sufficient time to train people for the tasks, none of which require high levels of skill. There will be a trial period of one week to make sure that people have chosen the right place. | View |
 | We run a residential retreat centre 5 miles from Glastonbury. We have 7 acres of land located in a quiet village in a beautiful landscape. Polytunnel, creating fruit cage. | We run a local veg box scheme along organic lines on our 18 acre site. We have livestock that may include laying hens, ducks, pigs and sheep at any given time, though the main focus is the veg - we're experimenting with minimum till and green manuring options. We also have newly planted coppice woodland, orchards and nut trees. Ponds/wetland systems under construction, and a barn and other small buildings in 2010. Help wanted with all of this but mostly with the market garden/box scheme. Also interests in permaculture & eco-build. Strong community involvement in the land. Accommodation in townhouse 1km from the land - local sights include Bath, Stonehenge & Glastonbury. Can teach small-scale commercial growing & general smallholding skills. Committed WWOOFers sure of a warm welcome! | View |
 | We run a 6 1/2 acre sustainable working croft on the West Coast of Scotland. We have a range of animals including a Jersey cow who we milk, followers, pigs, chicken (for meat and eggs) ducks, geese and a large fruit and veggie patch and poly-tunnel. We fish and collect sea-weed and are enthusiastic members of the Lochaber Environmental Group. We are also members of the local composting group which you can help with. We'd like help with gardening, the animals - feeding and lots of mucking out, fencing, building and composting. You will eat with us and live in a large mobile home with wood burning stove and shower room. We are about to install a wind turbine and wood burning boiler. Wwoofers can help with making cheese and yogurt, bread, home-smoking, ,join in preserving of fruits and vegetables and are asked to help with washing up. Non smokers only please. We only have room for one wwoofer at a time (we also have one employee) or idealy a couple who would like a longer term commitment (this would need advance notice of about 6 months). Sorry we are now full in June/July/August 2010. We are keen to hear from wwoofers in May and September onwards. | View |

 | We own and manage a 15 acre small holding in beautiful countryside near Bath. Since moving here, we have planted 2 new orchards, 700 broadleaf trees, hedges and put in a pond, all to attract wildlife and to conserve traditional ways of farming. The garden consists of vegetables and many flowers; the orchard has eating and cider apples, quinces etc. We also have four fields which we maintain organically as a conservation site. We have pigs over the winter months, and chickens too. Visitors are particularly welcome in the spring and autumn months, and if they have travelled overland, ie having a low carbon footprint. We can show you how to press apples for juice or cider in October. We are interested in producing our own wine and may be planting vines in the near future. We are not certified organic but don't use any chemicals. Comfortable accommodation in attractive house with stunning views over the valley. | View |

 | We offer a genuine experience of living off grid and without modern facilities, and are looking for people intersested in working with wood and living in woodland.
Our objectives are to restore ancient woodland, preserve our hill fort, and live sustainably. We have a considerable challenge to clear plantation prior to planting native trees, and currently Tamworth pigs are helping us. Our two young children are lively and involved.
We hope for Wwoofers sympathetic to our aims to live peacefully and very lightly and help us realise the potential of this dramatic woodland location., | View |
 | We need help to take back what was a lovely garden and produce garden many years ago and has more recently be taken over by time and weeds! We'd like help to set up systems so that the whole garden and land in our boundary functions more effeciently - developing composting units, fencing, tidying up hedge rows, clearing buidings externally and inside barns so that we can go on and set up a Cafe and Shop in the future. The working farm around us is also organic and help may me needed there on occassions. Our very busy family business of coffee roasting business keeps us off the land too much and so help with all the above would be great! We have 3 three children, ponies, dogs and cats - so liking both is a must! | View |

 | We live on a 3 acre smallholding near Hailsham, East Sussex. We own 3 restaurants in Brighton and we moved to the smallholding 2 years ago to grow and rear food for ourselves and the restaurants. We have created a large kitchen garden where we grow a variety of vegetables to use all year round. We have an orchard and we will be pressing our own apple juice and making cider in the autumn. We forage for seasonal produce too and make preserves for the restaurants. We have reared pigs and we have a small field kitchen where we prepare our own bacon, pancetta, chorizo, air dried hams and other charcuterie for the restaurants. We bring the spent cooking oil from the restaurants to our smallholding where we convert it to bio-diesel to fuel our vehicles. We have a dog, 3 cats, hens, and we are currently awaiting more pigs.
We are a relaxed and sociable family. We work hard but the work is interesting, active and varied. A Wwoof worker would be able to work in the kitchen garden at any time of the year preparing the land, sowing the vegetables and harvesting. An interest in food and cooking would be useful as help is needed all year round in the field kitchen. You would also be able to learn how to make bio-diesel.
We live within walking distance of a pub and a village shop with its own cafe. Berwick and Polegate railway stations are both about 3 miles away giving access to London etc. We live in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which is popular with cyclists. We are not far from the seaside either. | View |

We have an orchard and with wide range of fruits and large vegetable and fruit garden. We made a wildlife pond last year and plan to do more work on it this year, as well as more tree planting, fencing, maintaining animal shelters, weeding and general maintenance. We offer a self contained annexe and families with up to two children are welcome at a time. Dick is a keen amateur musician and plays violin in various groups and Lizzie loves to cook and make preserves from the produce. | We live in Tooting South London (15 mins walk to Tooting Common) and have recently expanded our garden through purchase of some unused land to the rear of our property. This is 17x18m plot and we have already installed a large greenhouse, built vegetable beds, planted a herb bed, built 2 level decking and laid a lawn. We also inherited several apple trees, a grape vine and have planted cherries, plums, apricots, raspberries, blackcurrants, white currants. In addition to the land on our property we also took on an allotment plot a year ago. It is 8x11m and is accessible via train to Motspur park. The plot is very overgrown and despite this we did obtain an excellent harvest last year but could do much more with a willing pair of hands to really get it back on its feet.
We are vegetarian and are attempting to be self sufficient, and wish to feed our family organic home grown produce. We are hoping to get chickens in the future when everything in place. However with 2 children (3 years and 4 months) we have taken on a lot! Mike has built most of the new infrastructure in the garden and we would dearly love some help from a child friendly woofer to water, weed, care for plants, do composting, help with finishing bed building (garden and allotment), help to harvest, store and preserve produce. Some experience desirable but not essential if willing to learn.
Tania enjoys cooking and experimenting with recipes from around the world. We feed our daughter organic meat but would be offering a vegetarian diet to woofers. We are using organic methods and trying to recycle as much as possible including use of underground water storage butts, compost and food waste composter.
Mike is a design and technology teacher and Tania is a childminder therefore weekends and school holidays would be the times we can have woofers to stay. The accommodation would be on a futon in the playroom or a tent in the garden and they would be expected to share with domestic tasks such as cooking as well as showing initiative and being able to enjoy being around children. | View |
 | We live in Mid West Wales on bus route; inland from Cardigan.

 | We live in an old stone house in the fishing village of Tarbert. We have a sailing dinghy and
canoe which we use in the season to fish and explore coves and islands.
Carina is a village G.P. (doctor) and does homeopathy as well as mainstream work. Ed heads
up a Government-funded Green project in the village which helps villagers reduce energy in the
home and use renewables. Peter is 11 and at the local school.
We are also building a new timber house further down the coast. As of writing the house is still under
construction and we are laying out the drainage system and planting up shelter belts and preparing to plant crops.
Our current house in Tarbert has an established garden which we have developed over the past 7 years and includes fruit trees and soft fruit. Ed is a permaculture teacher and designer
and keen bread maker.
We also work on a community garden in the village which specialises in herbs. We follow Biodynamic principles. Ed sings in a Gaelic choir and edits a local magazine on history, archaeology and ecology. We have a big book collection. | View |
 | We live in a smallholding of 2.5 acres. It's incredibly beautiful and we're lucky enough to have a rural setting within striking distance of a village with pub (10 mins walk). The organic waste form animals is used to fertilise the soil. Our aim is to increase vegetable/flower/fruit production by organically improving soil (here a former turntable, sidings, reservoir) doing this sympathetically to wildlife by increasing soil fertility and health. We intend to keep bees and restore hedgeways. We recycle, cook organically using ecological sound cleaning, gardening methods. We use a log burner, septic tank and comfrey field for compost. Our dream is to live by our woods and use the wood for fuel and cooking, a well for water and toilets that have low impact. To do this we need help from like minded people. We are not certified organic but we do not use any pesticides on our farm.
We would like people to stay with us whom we could learn from and whom could have a taste of free range life style.

 | We have recently bought an old 17th century farm with outbuildings and 1.7 acres on the outskirts of Taunton. We are renovating and restoring the farm and also trying to establish a vegetable garden and maintain an ancient orchard. There are lots of plans for the buildings including a carbon neutral building and wind turbine, so could be good experience for people interested in sustainable development. We also have a well, which provides grey water. There is a variety of work available, both indoors and outdoors and we are flexible about work patterns. Accommodation is comfortable and food is home cooked organic food mainly from the garden. We expect WWOOFers to work hard and in exchange we look after you very well.

Produce is for home consumption so activities include jam and chutney making, bottling and freezing. We have chickens and plan goats (offsite) in Spring 2010.
Projects for 2010 include building a turf roof chicken house, extending composting, planting and coppicing willows and hazels for wetland area and reseeding orchard for wild flowers.
WWOOFer has self contained accommodation, meals taken with family. Contact by email. | View |
 | We have lived here for 16 years, farming 20 acres of grazing land with cattle, sheep, pigs, geese, hens and turkeys extensively. We fed our animals organically and did not use chemical fertilizer. There is a small wooded area, orchard, vegetable garden, greenhouse and large spring-fed lake. We are diversifying into B&B tourism with craft activities such as pottery, willow weaving, walks, bike rides, fishing and local tours, so we would like some help to extend the vegetable garden, soft fruit area and orchard to grow more produce. We aim to become self-sufficient with free range chickens, geese and turkeys; these will want housing and fences constructed and we need help with the general upkeep and maintenance of the farm to establish ourselves as an organic tourism provider. | View |
 | We have lived here for 10 years. It is an old farm with stone outbuildings that we are gradually developing into useful spaces using traditional/eco techniques. We are milling all of the timber at home with a woodmizer. Livestock includes a small flock of Shetland sheep and a few Highland cows on about 40 acres (mainly rented). We are not registered organic but try to live by the principles. Developing a kitchen garden based on raised beds. Appreciate help with everything we are trying to do. Currently developing a self -catering flat and studio in part of the buildings so lots of opportunities to learn building as well as animal and gardening skills. It's really peaceful! | View |
 | We have had 5 years here on 40 acres. Half fields and half woodland. Nothing flat! The wildlife habitat is very important to us, as well we are trying to be self-sufficient in both vegetables and meat and eggs. Clearing overgrown areas when needed and clearing young trees are being done at present. Work varies with time of year. Hedge laying next winter. General animal care is ongoing. We have a "green outlook" and are Christian by persuasion. Come and enjoy. | View |
 | We have farmed 20 acres of land in the beautiful Nadder Valley, west of Salisbury, for the last four years and entered organic conversion in 2008. We raise lamb and chicken for the table, as well as occasionally keeping pigs & cattle. We are passionate about food and about producing local food for local people and we sell all our meat at the farm gate or on Salisbury Farmers' Market. We also keep hens for eggs, have a veg garden and a young orchard, providing food for our own kitchen. We hope to increase production on the farm over the next few years. We need help with all aspects of farm work and in return offer the chance to share in our passion for what we do. | View |
 | We have been living here in Devon for 6 months now having moved from London. We have quite a bit of land with which we want to create an organic garden . This requires some help with preparing as it has been allowed to get overgrown . We have plans to create raised beds when the land has been levelled. Living here we are 2 adults ,1 child of 12yrs and our dog . | View |
 | We have been growing organic vegetables commercially for the last 20 years and have always enjoyed meeting and working with kindred spirits. Our holding is 10 acres in total and we are currently growing 3 acres of vegetables. We are situated just outside a small village and stretches along the river Cerne under the Dorset Downs. We have a small organic farm shop and consequently produce a diverse range of vegetables. Our helpers would be expected to be involved in all stages of production from plant raising to harvest and packing. Experience isn't essential but enthusiasm and keen interest are. There is potential for long-term wwoofers. | View |
