Emerson College has a busy schedule planned for January until June 2015 - additional staff are therefore sought for the following three positions:


Cleaner

Monday to Friday from January until June 2015, possibly longer

Do you enjoy cleaning and be part of an international team amongst many different students, volunteers and guests? Emerson College has a variety of classrooms, dining rooms and bedrooms which need to be looked after and cared for.

We are looking for an experience cleaner who can work Monday to Friday from 9.30-2.30. It might be possible to work during term times only and take time off during school holidays.

Salary: Self employed £6.50 – 8 per hour depending on experience.

 

Kitchen Helper

Monday to Friday from January until June 2015, possibly longer

We have a small kitchen which caters for 20 to 60 people daily. Our lunches are vegetarian, freshly cooked with organic and biodynamic ingredients.

We are looking for a kitchen helper who can work Monday to Friday from 9am-3pm. It might be possible to work during term times only and take time off during school holidays.

Salary: Self employed £6.50 – 8 per hour depending on experience.

 

Hosting manager

Friday – Sunday from January until June 2015, possibly longer

Main aim:

Provide conference centre facilities at weekends in a “hands on role”. Keep a high standard of cleanliness and appearances; work within the rules of the various legal requirements and in a sustainable and ecological way. Respond to customer demands promptly and in a friendly way.

Main tasks:

  • Receive weekend guests and respond to their requests in a friendly and prompt way during their stay.
  • Clean and set up class room for courses and clear away at the end
  • Meal duties (breakfast, lunch, supper and breaks): set tables, washing up
  • Clean facilities in accommodation as used during the weekend
  • Clean floors and toilets in common spaces
  • Laundry
  • Provide first aid (when necessary)
  • Instruct house keeper / helper for Saturday evening shift
  • Provide handover information for the House Manager

Skills:

  • Experience in cleaning and house keeping
  • Fluent in English
  • Friendly and welcoming
  • Good in problem solving
  • Well organised and calm
  • Attention to details

The work is ideal for somebody who enjoys physical work in a friendly environment with a lot of interaction with many different people.

 

Working times:

Friday 2 – 8pm, Saturday 7am – 2.30, Sunday 7am – 3.30 pm, total 20.5 hours per weekend; 30 min for lunch break each day. Flexibility with hours is required. Work is not guaranteed for weekends, but we are usually open for 2 weekends a month

Salary: Self employed £10 – 12 per hour depending on experience
