Lord David Puttnam Speaks: An Endorsement of LLOOF.

Lord David Puttnam asks you to support the all new LLOOF project on behalf of the whole human race.

LLOOF project partners are delighted to announce the support of Lord David Puttnam, Digital Champion for Ireland, who is both a believer in, and practitioner of, online learning through his educational charity 'Atticus'. This world-famous award winning film producer has made a short film endorsing LLOOF in which he says, “Climate change is without a doubt the biggest challenge that mankind has ever faced... The idea of an online presence, through LLOOF, that is able to get the message across, and to encourage people with practical ways of making their lives more sustainable... this is really, really good news. I think this is an initiative that is worth everyone's support.”

LLOOF, which has been developed by ten European partner WWOOF organisations, with Erasmus+ funding, is a new, innovative, online interactive learning guide that will teach adults about organic farming, rural business and cultural exchange on farms.

Living and Learning on Organic Farms (LLOOF) focuses on educating adults about volunteering and organic food production on farm enterprises and is a partnership project with national WWOOF organisations from ten European countries. It has developed and is promoting a Learning Guide as an online open educational resource (OER) for adult learners about organic food production, entrepreneurship, volunteering and cultural exchange on farm enterprises. The adults, especially 18-34 year olds, can then relate this online learning to practical residential work experience and informal learning on a range of small enterprises in different European countries. This project has been funded with support from the European Commission.

A key aim of the LLOOF project is to encourage and support new young entrants to farming. The LLOOF online learning guide will be free to anyone who wants to learn more about growing food organically and living more sustainably – an interactive extension to the hands-on practical experience of volunteering, supported by experienced host farmers.
