Opportunity To Run Productive Community Garden - Scotland

West Ardnamurchan Produce Community Interest Company is offering the opportunity to run its Community Garden as a commercial but community minded venture.

The garden is around 2 acres of land approximately 0.75 acres of which is currently under cultivation and includes a poly-tunnel, a large area of vegetable beds, a soft fruit area, a harvesting and storage shed and a static caravan for use by seasonal residential volunteers (the new agreement holder will not be able to live there).

At present the garden provides a part time income for the current self-employed workers who sell produce through a variety of outlets in the local area.

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-sufficient individual or partnership, confident in their ability to grow veg and fruit, manage a commercial garden (within guidelines that emphasis community involvement, volunteering and supply to the community), and live in a remote and isolated location.

Initially the minimum term will run from March 1st to October 31st 2016 with the opportunity to extend by mutual consent. It may also be possible to take on the garden prior to March 2016 and extend it beyond October but these times are outwith the current main growing/income-generating season.
