Organic Gardening Course: Powys, Wales

There is a planned Organic Gardening course in Powys that would run for 18 weeks. The venue would be The Llanfyllin Workhouse, Brynffynon, Llanfyllin, Powys SY22 5LD

Llanfyllin Workhouse is a developing community centre and venue for the arts, music, creativity and education, with a strong commitment to it's Green Hub. The Green Hub brings people of all ages, abilities and background together towards a common goal. It promotes and raises awareness of biodiversity initiatives, provides opportunities for local people to get involved in conservation and green volunteering projects, adds to our collective knowledge and skills base and empowers the community to act to reduce their carbon footprint and minimise the effects of climate change.

Here's what Tree from the Green Hub is aiming to achieve in his call out to 'Green Hubbers':

We're hoping to arrange an 18 week organic gardening course @ Y Dolydd Llanfyllin Workhouse with Emma Maxwell, Horticulturalist and tutor from Cwm Harry, Newtown. We would meet once a week for 3 hours from mid-Feb onwards. Learn how to grow food in this hands on course. We'll be planting the raised beds at the Workhouse and learn from the Forest Garden. Emma is incredibly knowledgable, inspiring and fun. Day of the week still to be decided. We need 8 people to take part. I'm in - who else?
