Description
On the western tip of the Isle of Mull looking out to the isles of Staffa and Iona, the croft extends to 24 hectares along the coast - Mainly Hebridean pasture, small areas of woodland, 1 hectare cut for hay; 10 Jacob sheep, poultry; 0.5 hectare fruit and vegetable garden, all managed organically, stocking our own croft shop with fresh and prepared foods; our own spinning and knitting kits; also supplying and managing self-catering accommodation. Croft work includes all aspects of gardening, picking, packing and preserving for shop, bracken cutting, composting. Accommodation is in a comfortable shared bothy/barn or caravan with its own cooking facilities; the washing and showering facilities are adjacent to our house. Wwoofers cook for themselves most of the time - we will provide lots of delicious seasonal organic and home-grown foods - and we enjoy eating together and being sociable a two or three times during the week.
Working hours can be flexible so you have time to explore the islands. Our other passions - alternative technologies, Gaelic singing, local heritage.
