Workers co-op. Our aim is to live lightly on the earth and work with the earth. Interests: basket making, teaching permaculture, Sharing Nonviolent Communication, blacksmithing, bee keeping, felt making, climate change campaigning, socialising, walking, swimming in sea, making music, meditation, yoga.
15 acre smallholding situated 2 miles from Durham. Excellent bus service and rail link. Good cycle networks and walks. Near to coast. Accommodation for 1 or couple.

We also run one long WWoof camp in the summer.Own cooking area (food provided) lunches and one evening meal shared per week. Solar shower or, wash in river (summer only!) or public baths. Long term WWOOFers have use of washing machine. Off grid so electricity limited; small turbine and solar panels, compost toilet. Rainwater collected, drinking water from own well. Work: organic veg box, ecological building, hens, sheep, track making, fencing, gate making, fruit picking, tree planting, coppicing, felling. Hours generally 10 am - 4pm mon-fri. We don't take smokers or heavy drinkers or wwoofers who have flown unless from afar with a long stay visit planned in the UK.
