Description
We are a 240 acre hill farm on Ben Lawers overlooking Loch Tay in Highland Perthshire; an area of outstanding natural beauty. Our ongoing work is to rejuvenate the farm, by planting trees and reducing animal numbers and are exploring options for a farm co-op. We have a community facility called the Big Shed, and a small farm shop selling home grown produce.
We need volunteers to help with the gardens, woodlands and animals. This could include weeding, fencing, firewood, building work, butchering, sausage making and meat packing.
We like volunteers to stay at least a couple of weeks and prefer people who are interested in farming. Accommodation is in our 'off grid' timber cabin.
Meals are cooked and eaten in the farmhouse. Volunteers must be willing to cook, usually with our home grown produce (for 3 to 4 people).
We also have 3 horses, hens and ducks, Kunekune pigs, rare breed sheep, access to the mountains, and our own beach on the loch where we sometimes have campfires and BBQ’s. There is a thriving traditional music scene locally.
