Description
We are a six acre mixed permaculture small holding in a picturesque and very rural part of Northern Ireland, near the Mourne Mountains. We run the holding on organic principles. We keep chickens for eggs.
In 2018 we're focusing on our gardens, but also have some earth plastering to do on a small strawbale roundhouse.
We have two polytunnels, several growing areas, an orchard/forest garden. We will be expanding our vegetable growing area and maintaining our fruit growing areas and planting new hedges and trees.
Ideally we are seeking wwoofers with some experience and you will sometimes need to work on your own although we are here most of the time. Typical tasks include weeding, seed sowing, mulching, tree planting, compost spreading, and general work in the gardens. Accommodation is in a newly converted horse lorry, which is equipped with a woodburning stove, kitchen and shower. There is a compost toilet outside.
