Foot-Slope-Soap was founded in 2015 by two artists with a passion for the environment. Our valley, with surrounding hills cloaked in ancient oak woodlands, is renowned for being the most beautiful in all Ceredigion, popular with hikers, cyclists, wild swimmers. We are looking for enthusiastic but mindful help at the very beginning of our exciting new project. We aspire to have our 18 acres, mostly pasture at present, eventually reach certified organic status. The land, temporarily let to a respected local sheep farming couple, includes a river and mature deciduous woodland. Current work is focused on outbuildings, including Bethel, a 19th century chapel on our land, and continuing construction of an organic garden and apiary. The original farmhouse is a 17th century Welsh longhouse, which has been carefully renovated to provide further accommodation. The hayloft is now a cosy sleeping barn for two. The converted 18th century threshing barn has accommodation for one/two WWOOFERs and us, with shared bathroom, fitted kitchen, wood burners and even carpets! NOTE there is very limited WIFI, no TV, and rarely any mobile signal.
