Business Planning For Community Growers is a course taking place over four sessions designed to help community growers get to grips with strategic planning and produce a business plan for their project.
The course is run by Growing Together; a new partnership initiative of community and environmental sector organisations that unlocks income, land and skills for community growing groups to help them become financially self-sustaining. The project is managed by The Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens, a registered company and registered charity (with the Charity Commission).
The course runs on the following dates and locations:
- Early days - The big idea
Where: Paddington Farm Trust, Glastonbury
When: Thursday June 30th 2016, 10am - 4pm
Where: Bath City Farm
When: Thursday July 14th 2016, 10am - 4pm
- Show me the money – Feasibility, funding and financial planning
Where: St Werburgh's City Farm, Bristol
When: Thursday 28th July 2016, 10am - 4pm
- Legal structures and bringing it all together
Where: Windmill Hill City Farm, Bristol
When: Thursday 18th August, 10am - 4pm
Each session takes place at a different community growing site in the South West of England. You can attend any or all of the four sessions but will need to book separately for each session that you wish to attend.
Growing Together also offer support for community growers in the form of fundraising training for small charities, best practise workshops on how to sell to restaurants and extensive tours around existing community growing sites.
