This year a number of groups from across the UK food movement are working together to put on The Great Seed Festival in October. The festival is an opportunity to raise awareness about why seed diversity is important and how this is threatened. It will showcase the important work being done to revive and protect local control over our seeds and will inspire and equip others to defend seeds and all agricultural biodiversity.
We’re looking for an intern to help deliver this important project, as well as supporting us with outreach and promotional activities. You’ll be based in The Gaia Foundation office in Hampstead, London.This is an unpaid internship position but Gaia would reimburse lunch and reasonable travel expenses within London.
Commitment: 2 days per week (days negotiable) + Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th October
Closing date: 5pm on the 19th June
Start date: Week beginning 7th July
End date: End of October
Based at: The Gaia Foundation office, Hampstead, London, NW3 2NU

Responsibilities for the intern will include:
Co-manage festival Twitter and Facebook accounts.
Develop information and activity packs on key seed-related issues for schools, universities and critical audiences.
Outreach work with community groups.
Assist with participant and volunteer recruitment and coordination.
Logistical support for the festival's key events.
Desirable qualities and skills:An interest in seed and food issues.
Competent in social media.
