A paid position is currently available at Bore Place - a beautiful historic venue in Kent, home to the Commonwork Trust and Commonwork Organic Farm.
Bore Place are looking for an experienced Market Gardener with practical organic growing knowledge to join their friendly team.
The purpose of this post is to run the organic Market Garden which is an integral part of the Grow to Grow project. The project provides supported opportunities for vulnerable young people to be part of a small team growing fruit and vegetables, whilst receiving therapeutic support alongside.
The Market Gardener is responsible for ensuring that there are a suitable range of tasks for groups and individuals attending the project, whilst coaching young people in all aspects of planting, maintaining and growing, and demonstrating how running a small business can work.
The successful candidate will be responsible for running the Market Garden and building the client base for produce sales as well as developing our new Veg Box scheme as a regular income source. The candidate will also be responsible for supervising and supporting project workers, staff, young people on work placements and volunteers in the Market Garden, whilst ensuring the garden’s organic standards are met.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, flexible on a seasonal basis.
